Hi Travelers,
August means many things to many people. To those who are freshman college-bound this month or returning to campuses across the country to complete their studies, tuition can be an all-consuming top-of-mind topic. With tuitions spiking to all-time highs, scholarship support for many, is a key determiner for both initial and continued enrollment.
A particularly powerful way to grow financial support for one’s higher education is through the accumulation of multiple lesser-known grants provided by relatively obscure educational foundations.
For instance, the AANR Education Foundation is a charitable partner of the American Association for Nude Recreation (aanr.com) which provides grants and scholarships to organizations and individuals that support the Foundation’s goals and objectives: “To educate the public about the values and benefits of nude recreation, and to ensure an understanding of nudism and its rightful status as a social and recreational practice.”
The AANR Education Foundation is classified as a 501(c)(3) charitable organization by the Internal Revenue Service.
Students, age 17 and older, who have AANR affiliation and/or experience are eligible to apply for scholarships to further their education. Winners of AANR regional scholarships may also apply for an AANR Education Foundation scholarship.
Scholarships are awarded based upon a combination of merit, financial need, personal characteristics and/or somewhat uncommon passions that come through in both the essay and letters of recommendation.
Requirements of the AANREF include:
Completion of the application form.
Answering the 7 essay questions.
Obtaining two (2) letters of recommendation.
Presentation of an official school transcript.
As with many scholarship essay opportunities, this is each student’s chance to show their creative side, let his or her true free spirit soar. But remember to be authentic – true to oneself.
Awarding of a Scholarship:
Based on a detailed evaluation of the applications received, three awards of differing amounts are awarded each year.
- Top Tier $1,500
- Second Tier $1,000
- Third Tier $500
Though scholarships for this school year have already been granted, I recommend you put a reminder on your calendar to source out this scholarship opportunity for the 2025/26 school year. Be smart and begin your quest early for the AANR and other scholarship submissions.
Applications for the next award year must be received by the Committee no later than May 1, 2025.
You can download the application, and scan it from scholarships@aanr-ef.com then email to: SCHOLARSHIPS@AANR-EF.COM
Naturally yours,
