I traveled to the beautiful Caribbean island of St. Kitts and Nevis for a week in April 2024. I took my father there for his 84th birthday. He had visited the small island about 30 years ago and shared his visit at that time. He remembered many dirt roads and less developed homes and businesses when he visited.

Before the trip I started researching the island and found some hotels and the pictures were really beautiful. I did not find much information other than the history of the islands and some tours you can take. Nothing beats being there.

We left from Bermuda and had an overnight stay in New York. The next morning we left for Basseterre, St. Kitts and arrived 4 hours later. It was an amazing site flying into the island with its mountains and lush greenery seen from the airplane window. The airport was very small and you had to walk down the airplane steps and across the tarmac to get inside. After going through customs and gathering our bags, we went outside to be taken to our rental car. If you are a tourist , which we were, you will get a "visitor's" St. Kitts license.

We traveled to our amazing Airbnb that overlooked the water and the picturesque view of Timothy Hill, where the left side is the Atlantic Ocean and the right side is the Caribbean Sea. On the side of us was the view of the beautiful, huge Marriott Beach Club Hotel. Morning views were amazing!

Because we had a car rental, we were able to travel the entire island stopping at many picturesque views. Not only were the views amazing, but the food, people, service and hospitality where topnotch.

We ate at Fire, Steak & Seafood Restaurant with it's fresh ingredients, salmon was delicious. La Cucina Italian restaurant had large portions of pasta and everything Italian and the Calypso Cafe, had the best gelato. All located in Marriott.

Koi Resort by Hilton had local servers and the food was fresh and tasty served in the Ultra Lounge. We decided to hang with the locals some nights at Frigate Bay were the restaurants all had a beach view. Monkey Bar's food was like a well home cooked meal. Rock Lobster near the Marriott was by far our favorite as we ate there a few times during our stay enjoying the seafood options.

The second last day of our trip we took a Full Island Panoramic Tour around St. Kitts with tour owner Annie. She showed us every nook and carney of the island, sights we would have never seen with our rental car. We visited Brimstone Hill Fortress National Park, Black Rock, Romney Manor and Batik making to name a few stops,

On the last day we took a "car boat" across the ocean to visit Nevis. It is a small island and we were able to take our car and drive the entire island in an hour.

Needless to say my father was quite impressed and pleased to see that the island had some major development from his last trip. We will definitely be visiting the beautiful island again.
