Showcasing Naturist Resorts in Florida and California

Hidden River is a pristine spot beloved by naturists
Hidden River is a pristine spot beloved by naturists

Hi Travelers,

For the past few months I’ve shared with you information on nude recreation in general…the relaxation benefits, proper etiquette, upcoming naturist events and more.  Now I’d like to entice you to some of the family-friendly resorts and camping enclaves which are affiliated with the American Association for Nude Recreation.

Today I’m introducing you to two facilities, one in Florida, the other in California. (Over the next weeks I’ll share info into many other clubs/resorts/campgrounds in states in between.)

First is HIDDEN RIVER RESORT – a clothing-optional property – located about 45 minutes from Jacksonville, FL and bordering on the pristine St. Marys River. The resort provides the first-time visitor a no-pressure environment. Clothing-optional means just that, clothing is an option.

The 88 acres of pine and oak forests offer both the seasoned and first-time naturist relaxing and stress-free outdoor recreation in a peaceful park setting. In fact, many guests compare a visit to Hidden River Resort to that of a state park, but without the requirement of wearing clothing.

Selection of outdoor recreation activities at Hidden River Resort range from lounging by the in-ground pool or relaxing in the hot tub (the only two areas requiring guests to be nude), or enjoying lawn games such as petanque, cornhole, or Frisbee.

You can take a leisurely stroll down one of many nature trails or find your own private sunning spot along the tranquil St. Marys. A quiet day in the forest makes for a perfect place to picnic and read a good book or to practice yoga, Tia-chi, or simply meditate as one with nature.

While many Floridians make it a day trip to Hidden River Resort, being under an hour’s drive from Jacksonville, there are full facility RV and tent camping options for overnight stays, along with outdoor pavilions for group dining and recreation.

Next up is GLEN EDEN SUN CLUB, clear across the country in Temescal Valley, CA, not far from Riverside. Glen Eden is a family-oriented nudist club nestled on 154 acres at the base of the Cleveland National Forest in Southern California.

Welcoming visitors since 1963, guests can come for the day or stay for a week.  Facilities include 52 full hook-up RV sites and numerous dry camping areas.  Laundry and shower facilities, free WiFi and a dog park are among the amenities overnighters and day-trippers can avail themselves of.  There are also fully outfitted rental units, including park models and midsized RVs.

Glen Eden also boasts an unrivaled entertainment schedule that includes shows, dances, sports events, yoga, water aerobics, Zumba, meditation and strength training.

Recreational amenities include 3 heated swimming pools, 2 hot tubs, a dry spa, tennis and pickleball courts, 24-hour gym, art studios, volleyball, billiards, shuffleboard, disk golf, RC track, book/thrift store and more.
