Do you really need to sleep in your pjs?

Hi Travelers,

To everyone whose suffered a sleepless night, we all know that a good night sleep is imperative for a robust next day.  And the importance of good sleep is actively promoted during two months celebrating this need and how to achieve it.  March is National Sleep Awareness Month, while May is Better Sleep Month.

According to the Health Culture Foundation, which advocates for National Sleep Awareness Month, “30-50% of adults worldwide experience difficulty falling asleep, staying asleep or achieving restorative sleep. This is a silent epidemic that affects physical and mental health.” You can learn more about them and how to enjoy a better sleep at sleepawarenessmonth.org.

At the American Association for Nude Recreation (aanr.com) they also offer tips for a good night’s sleep:

  • If you’re too warm while under the covers, maybe the best sleepwear is no pjs at all. As most nudists know, when the clothes are shed so too is the stress imposed by outside influences (job, politics, family issues, etc.). Optimal temperature for restorative sleep is between 60 and 68 degrees Fahrenheit, according to Medical Daily. If we’re too hot, this can prevent your body core temperature from reaching the optimal parameters, which then leads to restlessness, and even insomnia. Sleeping naked prevents the body from overheating and can lead to a better night’s sleep.
  • This, however, doesn’t mean you can’t wear a sleep mask to eliminate ambient light.  Blocking light helps you to sleep more soundly as sleeping in complete darkness stimulates the release of melatonin, which cools the body.
  • Watch what you eat before sleep time. Research shows that increasing your fruit and veggie intake can reduce the onset of insomnia.  Also, that warm glass of milk gets your body’s melatonin amped up, which helps regulate your sleep/wake cycle. Other sources of melatonin include eggs, salmon, mushrooms and nuts.

So, try these tips for a better night sleep at home.  Wake up with a refreshed attitude, one that says, sure I’ll take a trip to an AANR resort/club/campground.  Remember, your life will be enhanced by the naturalness of wholesome social nudity.  From exercise to relaxation, a person’s physical, spiritual and mental health is enriched through nude recreation.

Naturally,
