Hi Travelers,

Last week I introduced you to two clothing-optional resorts: Hidden River near Jacksonville, FL and Glen Eden Sun Club in Southern California.  Today I’m happy to share insights into two other clubs affiliated with the American Association for Nude Recreation in other parts of the country.  They are Oaklake Trails Naturist Resort in Oklahoma and Avalon Resort and Campground in West Virginia.

Avalon Resort and Campground is nestled on a mountainside in the panhandle of West Virginia. They bill themselves as “the friendliest Clothing Optional Resort!” and that’s the truth. For those living in the Mid-Atlantic region of the country, know they are conveniently located two hours from both Washington D.C. and Baltimore, Maryland.

Avalon has the amenities and features that you can enjoy for a day, a vacation or a lifetime. Despite the hills of West Virginia making cell service spotty in the general area, high speed WIFI is available in the Campground, Outdoor Pool and Indoor Aquatics center areas. Regardless, it's a great place to disconnect from technology and reconnect with family, friends and your natural self.

You, your family and friends will find there's something for everyone at Avalon. If you are new to naturism and a clothing-optional experience, you will be perfectly relaxed, welcome and safe with a friendly group of people who have each had a first-time experience of their own.

Enjoy relaxing without clothes in the private, secluded and pristine 140+ acre resort area. Walk the wooded trails. Join in around a campfire. Participate in the various activities (there’s always a calendar of events). Make new friends. Or just relax and enjoy the surroundings.

Amenities include catch & release pond fishing, pétanque courts, tennis courts, pickleball courts, water volleyball, indoor and outdoor pools, hot tubs, sauna, gym/exercise room, Bare Barn Events Center, food & beverage outlets and more.

Accommodations range from primitive tent camping sites, small and large RV sites with water, electric and sewer, private condo rentals and log cabins. Three beautiful campground areas feature 127 sites for tents and RVs complete with 2 bathhouses, laundry facilities, and hook ups. Advance reservations are required with background check, so be sure to call ahead.  For more information, please visit Avalon-resort.com or call (304) 947-5600.

Oaklake Trails Naturist Resort in Depew, OK is the perfect place to experience the freedom of social nudity for the very first time.  As with all AANR-affiliated venues, a background check is required upon arrival. You can read up on that safety measure on their website at oaklaketrails.com/newbies along with what to bring, house rules, and more valuable insights.

Oaklake Trails is a clothing optional resort.  You can disrobe at your own pace, but you’ll find that most guests will be enjoying the facilities nude, weather permitting.  The only place you must be nude is when entering the pools, hot tub or sauna. Pet lovers should know that dogs are allowed on leash and with ID tags, a pet surcharge will apply.

Accommodations include 14 cabins, a new “family glamper” cabin, three RV sites for a total of 29 RV spaces with 30 and 50 amp service, water and sewer. Oaklake Trails offers a nice selection of shaded tent campsites with or without electric near the pools, hot tub, clubhouse, showers and laundry. Shared picnic tables and charcoal grills add neighborly touches.

Established in 1992, it's located on more than 400 acres of beautiful hickory and oak covered hills halfway between Tulsa and Oklahoma City just north of historic Route 66.  For more information visit oaklatetrails.com or call (918) 324-5999.

All AANR-affiliated resorts/clubs/campgrounds are dedicated to the principle that social nudity is wholesome, relaxing, emotionally and physically healthy, and just plain fun. So give it a try this summer.  Take a Nakation Vacation!
